Tom Morello Uses Kyte to Engage with Fans

Posted by: Marisol Segal    Under: Product |

Hey Kyte Fans,

Before getting stuffed on turkey tomorrow, be sure to check out bad ass guitarist Tom Morello's Kyte channel.  He's been producing some very cool Kyte shows while on tour.

Morello, ranked #26 on Rolling Stone’s list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists Of All Time, has rocked with bands such as Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave.

He's using Kyte Mobile Producer to give fans raw, authentic content from the tour bus, in the studio, and performances from the tour. Fans can watch Morello’s Kyte channel on his website, or click the “Get & Share” tab at the bottom of the Kyte Player to embed the channel on their own social network, blog or website and stay up to date on the Nightwatchman’s shows. Fans can also click on the banner links to check out Morello’s MySpace page, website, and non-profit, Axis of Justice.

Morello is a great example of how an artist can use Kyte to easily create raw, authentic content, engage with fans wherever they are, and bring fans back to the artist’s destination.

Happy Turkey Day!

Posted by: Marisol Segal    Under: Product |

Hey Kyte Fans,

Today we're rolling out some exciting new features that will enable media and entertainment brands to monetize their content and reach audiences on the go with a fully branded mobile experience.  Below is a short demo and outline of the new features.

Branded Mobile Web Applications

Every partner Kyte channel now includes a companion, branded mobile web application, right "out of the box."  Branded Mobile Web allows our partners to deliver the same highly interactive and fully branded Kyte experience audiences enjoy on the web, to any mobile device, including the ability to watch, rate and comment on shows, and chat with other viewers.

Today, Interscope artists Lady Gaga and All American Rejects have launched their own branded mobile web applications, which fans can view by pointing their mobile browsers to m.ladygaga.com and m.allamericanrejects.com, respectively. To see more examples of Kyte partners' mobile web applications, point your mobile browser to m.kyte.tv/expo

Key Features

This site requires Flash Player 8. Click here to install the latest Flash Player.

Google AdSense for Video

Kyte partners can monetize their branded Kyte channels by delivering relevant, contextualized ads via Google AdSense for Video.  Publishers can now tap into Google’s large pool of advertisers and serve pre-roll video, graphic overlay, and text endcap ads along with their Kyte shows.  Google AdSense for Video can run as a stand-alone ad solution or be “daisy chained” to handle unsold ad inventory when used in conjunction with a supported ad server such as DoubleClick DART.   You can check out a demo of a Kyte channel serving ads from Google AdSense for Video on our Monetization Demo page.

New Ad Servers Supported

The Kyte Platform now supports direct integration with leading ad servers Adtech Helios IQ and LightningCast.  In addition to Adtech Helios IQ and LightningCast, the Kyte Platform also integrates with DoubleClick DART, giving partners a comprehensive set of ad-serving capabilities that enables them to leverage existing ad operations infrastructure and resources to monetize branded content.  Check out our Monetization Demo to see a demo of the various supported ad formats.

We hope that you enjoy these new features and utilize them to reach new audiences and monetize your branded content.  Happy Kyting!

Sony Epic bands collaborate on Kyte channel to show fans life on tour

Posted by: Marisol Segal    Under: Partners |

Emerging Sony Epic bands A Rocket to the Moon, Automatic Love Letter, Cute is What We Aim For, and Secondhand Serenade have joined forces to bring fans a dedicated Kyte channel depicting life on the road while on tour.

The bands have a friendly competition going to determine which Kyte shows will receive the most views. Automatic Love Letter is currently kicking butt with their latest show receiving over 11,000 views! And in the show below, a member of Secondhand Serenade is baffled by how Kyte works. Now that he knows about live streaming, perhaps we’ll see some more candid clips from the tour bus and Secondhand Serenade will get their show views up? wink

Fans can watch the Kyte channel on each of the band's MySpace pages. Or, fans can click on the Get & Share tab at the bottom of the player and embed the channel on their own social networks, websites or blogs to stay up to date on all of the Kyte shows the bands will be creating on tour.

AC/DC allows fans to upload videos on Kyte channel

Posted by: Marisol Segal    Under: Partners |

Legendary rock group AC/DC is using its branded Kyte channel to allow fans to share their experiences, memories and passion for one of the greatest bands of all time.

Fans have been uploading video from the band's current tour and the content has been great! One fan was interviewed with the Kyte Mobile Producer application and showed off his autographed jacket and the AC/DC buttons he's collected over the years. While another rowdy group of fans uploaded video of their tailgate before the concert.

To upload video to the channel, fans simply click on the Produce tab in the top right of the Player. And once the show is approved, it is instantly available everywhere the AC/DC Kyte channel is embedded — social networks, blogs and websites.

This is a great example of a brand incorporating user generated content into its Kyte channel and engaging with an audience of fans. Rock on!
