New Customizable Kyte Player Skinning, More Enhancements Added to Player Branding

Posted by: Vera Sparre    Under: Product |

The Kyte Player is more customizable than ever thanks to new features and enhancements. We added player skinning, enabling you to create a custom-skinned player for your web destination with our Player Media Controller API, available in the Kyte Platform SDK. In other words, you can create a highly unique player, including using images or graphics you choose for buttons.

Below is an example of a skinned player using the Kyte Platform. Note, the Sea Life TV logo in the upper left, the thick blue casing surrounding the video player, and the use of the fish, octopus and clam-shell as the “buttons” for play, pause and stop.

Enhancements to our Kyte Player branding make it possible for you to customize your player even further, enabling you to mirror the look and feel of your brand. Now, you can change the background color of the Kyte Player, including the player header and footer and the flexible player tabs.

The new improvements to branding and addition of player skinning offer you more versatility and customization with Kyte than ever before.

IKEA Uses Kyte Platform For Special Summer Promotional Tour in Germany

Posted by: Vera Sparre    Under: Customers |

International Furniture Store Chain IKEA launched a fun and unique promotion in June, featuring four young people traveling throughout Germany, capturing all of their antics on video.

The IKEA Midsommar Tour consisted of the quartet visiting 22 German IKEA stores in 12 days in an RV, searching each store for special Midsommar deals on various items.

Throughout their journey, the participants detailed their visits to each store and subsequent purchases by shooting lighthearted video of themselves live using the Kyte Mobile Producer application. Shows were also created by uploading professionally produced video content using Kyte's content management tools.

IKEA integrated the Kyte Player into a special promotional website, http://www.midsommar-tour.de/, enabling consumers to watch the videos and keep up with the tour online.
