Kyte Adds Pre-Roll Video Ad Functionality to the iPhone Apps Framework

Posted by: Vera Sparre    Under: Product | Mobile | Partners |

Thanks to Kyte’s ad network partner, Smartclip, Kyte Platform Publishers are now able deliver pre-roll video ads directly to Kyte-powered iPhone apps.

According to a recent study by market research firm GfK Retail and Technology, iPhone users are far more likely to recall mobile ads than users of other types of handsets. This makes the iPhone the ideal handset to run pre-roll video ads.

Pre-roll video works just like it does on the web: users initiate the ad by pushing Play on the video. Below is an example of what a pre-roll video ad looks like on the iPhone.

With the addition of pre-roll video to Kyte’s Mobile Monetization options for the iPhone, such as M-commerce and paid iPhone Apps, Kyte Platform Publishers have more tools than ever before to increase revenue opportunities through mobile devices.

New NATO Secretary General Uses Kyte on Personal Video Blog, Promising Transparency

Posted by: Vera Sparre    Under: Customers |

Newly-appointed NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen is using the Kyte Platform to deliver weekly messages through his personal video blog, hosted on the NATO website.

Rasmussen, who took office August 1, says the addition of a personal video player is a great way to interact directly with citizens of member countries and signifies his commitment to operating his tenure with more transparency than previous NATO administrations.

A chromeless Kyte Player was embedded on his blog and in his debut show, Rasmussen encourages people to leave questions and comments for him on the blog itself. The Secretary General says he plans to respond directly to questions and comments in his weekly shows delivered through the Kyte Player.

NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization) is an alliance of 28 countries from North America and Europe and was formed in the aftermath of World War II in 1949.
