Wild 94.9 launches Kyte channel
Posted by: Gannon Hall Under: Customers |Last week San Francisco-based Top 40 radio station Wild 94.9 launched their Kyte channel. This is the first of what we hope will be many radio stations to go online with Kyte. The station, owned by Clear Channel, decided to replace their existing online video solution with the full-featured Kyte Platform. The station's on-air personalities are capturing video content in the studio and at events using a combination of professional grade video equipment and a Nokia N95 mobile phone running Kyte Mobile Producer. We're excited to be working with Wild 94.9 and welcome them to the Kyte family. Check out the channel below:
Here are a couple of places you can find the channel embedded:

50 Cent & G Unit continue to innovate
Posted by: Gannon Hall Under: Artists have been using MySpace for some time as a promotional tool. I've heard some argue that it was music and band profiles that catapulted Myspace to the realm of number 1 social network. Not sure if that's true, but there is no doubt that the social network is at the center of modern music promotion. G Unit has gone well beyond Myspace and continues to innovate in new and creative ways. Almost daily 50 produces new videos and broadcasts them to his Kyte channel, which is the centerpiece of his Ning social network, Thisis50.com, and to thousands of personal sites and social network profiles where fans have embedded his Kyte channel. Recent shows have included new music videos and hilarious feuding with rival Fat Joe.His latest show is a first though. Rather than debut his new single on radio, Myspace or iTunes, "I Like The Way She Do It" is running exclusive on his Kyte channel. Check it out:

Kyte comScore stats
Posted by: Gannon Hall Under: Company | Media Coverage |Most people familiar with Kyte understand that we’re not a destination, but an enabling technology. We have no interest in driving traffic to kyte.tv. Instead, our platform is designed to encourage deep user engagement of our partner’s content through the Kyte Player, both on our partner’s destination sites and everywhere else the player spreads virally. So, it was very refreshing to see the TechCrunch post today about Justin.TV’s Birthday Stats. The post included comScore stats, which, unlike Alexa ratings, actually take into account our Player embeds, which for us is a key measurement of the value we bring to our partners. Check out the graphic below (we’re in yellow):
So what’s behind the steep increase in Kyte uniques and why does it show no sign of slowing down? There are two things this validates for us: 1) our strategy around branded content distribution is working; and 2) although we now offer live streaming, we still believe the key to deep user engagement and viral content distribution is offering short, compelling “behind the scenes” reality-based content, or “super UGC” as some in the media have started calling it. These stats are proof of this and the trend shows no sign of slowing down. Live streaming is neat and we have a lot of fun playing with it, but a twenty minute live stream video clip just doesn’t have the long term value, both in terms of viral potential and monetization, as a killer 2 minute recorded video created by someone the public really cares about.
