Kyte at MIPCOM Conference 2009

Join the Kyte team at the MIPCOM Conference, which kicked off today in Cannes, France. MIPCOM is one of the world's largest entertainment and trade events in the entertainment industry, where international and digital media gather in one place.

You can also check out Maks Giordano, Kyte’s Managing Director of Germany, at “Join the Apps Fest! Screenings of the Best, Most Creative & Original Mobile Apps” Thursday, October 8, from 12:15 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Auditorium A, Level 3. The session will focus on some of the most innovative smart-phone mobile apps and how they can be used to build brand loyalty, distribute video content, entertain users and build a business.

Robert Scoble live streams Building43 launch party

Today, tech evangelist Robert Scoble is using the Kyte Platform to live stream the launch party of his new Building43 initiative, which Robert calls, "a community for people who are fanatical about the Internet."

The party is being held at the TechCrunch headquarters in Palo Alto, CA, in conjunction with the influential outlet's 4 year anniversary.

Scoble fans around the globe are tuning in to watch the festivities and candid interviews with some of the brightest minds in Silicon Valley.

Robert loves the Kyte Platform's multimedia chat feature and will often check to see what the viewers are saying, so be sure to tune in and send Robert a congratulatory chat message on the launch of Building43!

Midem Roundup

Hi Everyone - Several of us from Kyte just returned from the Midem conference in Cannes, France.  The event was a big success for us, starting off with our Universal Music Group announcement, and culminating with an equally exciting Sony Music deal that we announced today. Here are a few additional highlights from the event:



Michael Robertson of MP3.com, who couldn't be there in person due to legal problems with EMI, came in live from San Diego to Cannes via Kyte for the MidemNet keynote panel. This gave everyone a first hand glimpse of the technology and created quite a buzz.... after all, seeing is believing:

Daniel's panel, "Connecting artists & fans – A showcase of services," gave us the opportunity to explain what Kyte for the music industry is all about - connecting artists with fans. Given that the theme of the conference was artist-fan engagement, this was a perfect forum for us.

We were surprised and flattered when several speakers acknowledged Kyte on stage during their various talks, including Courtney Holt, president of MySpace Music, Michael Doernberg, CEO, ReverbNation, and Tero Ojanperä, Nokia's EVP Entertainment and Communities. Thanks guys!

We met a lot of interesting people. One of the most inspiring was JYP, the most successful artist/entrepranuer in Asia. JY is not only one of the biggest stars in Asia, but he puts together super stars like Rain and Wonder Girls. Of course we'd love for him to start using Kyte:

The Midem organizers used Kyte to power their MidemNet vblog and artist video channel. It was great working with them and we look forward to a continued partnership.

Kyte Wins Popkomm IMEA Awards!

Today in Berlin, Germany, Kyte was awarded the Popkomm Innovation in Music and Entertainment Award, which recognizes the best new business ideas, the brightest entrepreneurs and the hottest companies in the worldwide music, media and entertainment technology sectors.

Kyte was selected based on the following criteria:

Hammer launches Kyte channel on DanceJam

The Hammer Cam is now on DanceJam!

Kyte has paired up with Hammer and his new unique online dance community - DanceJam.com.  DanceJam allows users to create profiles where they can upload all of their favorite dance videos.  DanceJam gives your normal video site a twist by giving it’s users the ability to put their dance skill ‘on the line’ by virtually battling online.  DanceJam reaches out to the youth of today and gives them a new creative outlet to explore online the rapidly growing culture of street dance.  Most of DanceJam’s content thus far has been an eclectic arrangement of different Hip Hop styles that continues to break boundaries.

Hammer has begun using Kyte for his video blog which is prominently featured on DanceJam.com.  The video blog features everything from a day in the life of Hammer to live dance events and battles, all in real time!
