Consequence grows fan base on Kyte
Posted by: Ulysses King Under: Partners |Hip hop artist Consequence is featured in a video interview on Beet.tv in which he talks about how Kyte has helped him grow his online presence and fan base.
In addition to his own blog Consequence’s Kyte channel has been embedded on over 100,000 sites (including hip hop publications and fellow artist blogs) and has received over 1.4 million hits! Consequence demonstrates why content is king, as he provides viewers with highly entertaining, behind the scenes footage — from playing Connect Four with Jay-Z, to Mos Def and Kanye West talking about their plans for the next Black Star album.
Be on the lookout for Consequence’s new album, “You Win Some, You Lose Some,” which will be released on Kanye West’s G.O.O.D Music label early next year.

New features on the Kyte Platform!

As we continue to see a steady and significant increase in traffic, we've taken steps to prepare for future growth by focusing our recent development efforts on performance optimization and architectural platform improvements. But that's not all we've done. Following are a few of the features and enhancements our users can expect with this release:
New Features
- In-show Overlay Ads – Partners can now display an overlay ad in the bottom 1/3 of the viewer canvas
- Show Production Ads – Partners can customize splash ads during show production (when uploading media)
- Kyte Mobile Media Optimizer – For partners that want to integrate Kyte media into their mobile web applications, Kyte Mobile Media Optimizer can be accessed via the public API to properly customize media transcodes for delivery to various mobile devices
- Portuguese Language Support - For our Latin American and European friends, Portuguese is now a language option.
Kyte Player Enhancements
- Channel Changer – Header text links can now be used to change the channel, allowing users to browse to content on other channels (such as a Fan channel)
- Clickable Channel Logo – Partners can add a hyperlink to their channel logo that directs users to any destination
- Load Performance Improvements – Player components are loaded on an as-needed basis and caching is improved to reduce initial load times.
Server Enhancements
- Performance optimizations, stability improvments, and support for increased server load.

Foodies follow Slow Food Nation on Kyte

Slow Food Nation is being held in San Francisco this weekend and if you can’t physically attend, 7x7 Magazine and SF Weekly will be covering the event via their branded Kyte channels. SF Weekly blogger Tamara Palmer will be Kyting from the Taste Pavilions and the Slow Food Rocks music festival which will feature performances from Gnarls Barkley, Ozomatli, G Love & Special Sauce and others.
And on the 7x7 channel, Erin Fehrer will be interviewing some of the vendors exhibiting at the show.
Slow Food Nation is a subsidiary non-profit of Slow Food USA and part of the international Slow Food movement. It was created to organize the first-ever American collaborative gathering to unite the growing sustainable food movement and introduce thousands of people to food that is good, clean and fair.

Brandy is back…and she’s on Kyte!
Posted by: Ulysses King Under: Partners |Singer, actress and super mom Brandy has launched her own Kyte channel, and is giving fans an inside look at her life as she makes her new album. Brandy has been very active on her Kyte channel, producing several shows a week, and utilizing the multimedia chat feature to communicate with her fans. In a recent show, Brandy talked about how important the fan comments are to her, and showed her diary where she writes down the names of fans that have left encouraging messages.
Brandy also gave fans an inside scoop about a new song she’s working on with John Legend, very exciting! Be sure to tune in to Brandy’s Kyte channel for more exclusive news and behind the scenes footage.

Chris Brown chats live with fans on Kyte
Posted by: Ulysses King Under: Partners |R&B superstar Chris Brown held a live chat with members of his fan club on his branded Kyte channel, giving fans an inside scoop on his upcoming movie with Matt Dillon and T.I., collaborations with Madonna, Rihanna and Jay-Z for his next album, and plans for his new charitable foundation for kids.
Brown conducted the live chat right from his Web cam, demonstrating yet another way to live stream on the Kyte Platform.
Though the chat was exclusive to fan club members, Brown received over 11,000 views and 3,000 chat messages from fans!
His branded Kyte channel includes links to iTunes and Amazon, where fans can purchase his music. So be sure to click on the links in the player and buy his latest album, “Exclusive – The Forever Edition.”
